Believe in Your Dream

Growing up, I was from a town of 2,000 people. There were 60 kids in my graduating class. I was a farm girl from a town that wasn't known for basketball, nor were we very good. I was an underdog who wasn't expected to make it to a D1 college on a full scholarship, let alone the WNBA.

When I verballed to Iowa State, a few people called the head coach to tell him I wasn't good enough and ask him why he wants me. You see, I wasn't always the best player out on the court, but I made sure I was always the hardest worker out there. That's the one thing we as athletes can always control, how hard we work/out work every other athlete. Good things don't come easy. Not everyone will believe in your dream, but that's why it's your dream, not theirs.
