Why I March

There was zero question that I was joining my fellow women and supporters to partake in the women’s march on the 21st of January. But what really blew me away was the amount of people joining me. There are over 600 women's marches worldwide, and it proves that this is not about Trump, but human rights. I really started to think about the question... why I march. On this humbling day celebrating Martin Luther King Jr., who had a dream of equality. He reminded us of the foundation our nation was built on; though sometimes we let it slip from our memory. I had to voice why I thought it is important for me (just one girl) to march. As I...

How to Become a Healthier Happier You

As we find ourselves heading into a season where everyone’s workouts and health take a backseat, thoughts of …. let’s take the month off because there are so many goodies and the last thing I want to do is exercise…. Isn’t that why we came up with New Year’s Resolutions in the first place, so we can kick it into gear in January?! This year, let’s change this thought process! Coast to Coast- Jenna Cooke

My name is Jenna Cooke and my story begins on the east coast sitting in an office all day crunching numbers and ends on the west coast delivering babies! This transformation sounds so simple and easy when I sum it up in a sentence like that, but let me tell you, it was a long road. Like most millennials, I thought I knew what I wanted out of a young professional life. To live in a city, work on State Street in Boston and feel super important in my smart business clothes walking to work with the rest of the yopros. This dream came true and lasted all about 6 months before I realized the reality of it. The...

Today we are stepping in the shoes of a woman who was missing her purpose and the path that she walked to find her happy place. Walk along with us as we dig deeper into the journey of a women who risked it all to empower herself and others. Taking a leap of faith can be hard, especially when you know it might flip your world upside down. The future can be a scary place, and the uncertainty of tomorrow can create this imaginary box that we tend to live inside. We find security in our jobs, relationships, and the life that we know. Stepping away from this can be frightening because we don’t have a magic ball that will...

How Dogs Saved My Life

My name is Alexis Malone and I am a canine behaviorist. That’s right, I work with a pack of dogs, each dog coming to me for their own behavioral issue. Human aggressive dogs, dog-aggressive dogs, dogs with severe separation anxiety, whatever the case may be, I rehabilitate them with the help of my balanced pack. Typically, I find myself working with an average of ten dogs at a time. The most inspiring part about my career story is that at the lowest point in my life, it found me. I am a college dropout. When I left, I was an over-privileged, undereducated and unemployed twenty year old trying to find my way in the world. School wasn't working, so I moved...
